Experience

My background is in structural engineering. I completed my master's degree in engineering from Texas A&M in December 2010, and I worked in industry from January 2010 to March 2015, working as an engineer by day and moonlighting as a tutor by night. Since 2015 I've been working as an undergraduate engineering instructor. From 2015 to 2018 I worked as an engineering lecturer with the University of Texas at Tyler and Houston Community College. I taught various engineering courses from the freshman to senior level. In May 2018, I completed a Masters in Education at the University of Texas at Tyler. As of Fall 2018, I have relocated to Corvallis, Oregon to begin a doctoral degree in Civil Engineering. My work at the university takes up the vast majority of my time, but I do still like to tutor some students on the side as my schedule allows. I've been tutoring for many years, even since I was in high school myself. I offer tutoring in a multitude of subjects, but specialize in high school and college level mathematics, physics, chemistry, and statistics courses. I also offer tutoring in preparation for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, etc. I have been tutoring on and off since 2002, and I can help you or your student through these often challenging courses. The rate shown on this page is my standard rate for a one hour session. I can offer discounted rates for longer sessions. My rate is the same whether I'm working with one or multiple students simultaneously, so for students on a tight budget, that is an option. My cancellation policy is that a lesson must be cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time. For a lesson cancelled within 24 hours, I may charge a missed lesson fee equal to one-half of the lesson cost, though I may waive this at my digression. For no-shows, I will charge a missed lesson fee equal to the cost of the session. (If I travel to an agreed upon location, and no one arrives for the session, then I will bill for the session if I was not informed of a cancellation

Hobbies

I enjoy reading on the latest news and world events, and tutoring is a major hobby of mine. I'm also involved in some community service projects. When I'm not working or tutoring, I spend time with friends, my husband, and my cat. :P
